What Is Microblading?Microblading, less commonly known as eyebrow embroidery, is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that allows you to dramatically correct or fully restore any lost or thinned eyebrow hairs. A medical-grade, disposable pen-like instrument containing fine needles that are three times thinner than regular tattoo needles is used. The hand-held instrument gently deposits a special pigment into the basal layer of the skin to create crisp, hyper-realistic hair-like strokes that are virtually indistinguishable from real hair.
-
Will I still need to fill in my eyebrows?Microblading creates the illusion of fuller, thicker eyebrows for an everyday realistic look, however, brow powder may still be needed to achieve a full makeup look. Please keep in mind that it is not a solid-filled tattoo, but rather tiny hair strokes that make up the shape of your desired brow. (See portfolio for examples).
-
Does it hurt? There is some discomfort with this procedure, however as everyone's pain tolerance is different, it varies with each individual. My goal is to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. A topical numbing cream will be applied to the area throughout the procedure to minimize any discomfort.
-
How long does the procedure take? The consultation, shaping of your brow, numbing and blading procedure usually does not exceed 3 hours.
-
What does my inital appointment include?Your first appointment will include a shaping/color consult, design and microblading procedure. Aftercare products will be given and instructions will be discussed at your appointment and given to you in writing.
-
What is the recovery time?Healing time varies greatly for each individual. As everyone has different skin types, there is no "set" heal time, however many clients experience a fully healed brow within 7-12 days. The first 2-3 days, your eyebrows may appear much darker than the final result. This is completely normal! As your skin begins to heal, it may push out excess pigment as well as form scabs over the strokes. It is best not to wear products or makeup on your eyebrows for at least 7 days.
-
How long does it last?Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure and therefore will fade over time. Most clients will experience a lifespan of 1-3 years, depending on several factors: skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Oily skin with larger pores has a shorter lifespan, however I specialize in oily skin clients and I offer a technique and after-care method that has better pigment retention than typical microblading procedures done elsewhere. Skincare routine will also affect the retention rate. To maintain the brows looking fresh and crisp, it is recommended to have a touch-up every 12-18 months.
-
Will I need a touch-up session? This varies for each client and a touch up is recommended within 6-8 weeks.
-
Can this procedure be done on anyone?Unfortunately, as with any cosmetic procedure, not everyone is a candidate. Due to many factors, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not eligible for microblading. Clients with previous tattooed eyebrows may also not be candidates (depending on scarring/level of pigment). If you have had previous PMU, a consult is required.
-
Can I book a touch-up session with you even if I had Microblading done somewhere else?Yes-however this is NOT considered a touch-up session. If your brows were tattooed (including microblading, ombre brows, powder brow) elsewhere, this is considered a corrective session and you will be required to book as such.
-
How do I book an appointment? After you've made the decision to have the eyebrows you've always dreamed of, you can book an appointment using the Book Now section on this site, or you can fill out the Contact section and I will reach out to you to find the best availability. If you are using a Gift Card and would like to book an appointment, please use the Contact form and list your desired days/times and I will contact you to book your appointment. All sessions require a $100 non-refundable deposit that is applied to your treatment. This is to hold your appointment spot and block it off the calendar.
